Review: Advent Amico - Android Tablet

Got hands on Advent's AMICO 7 inch tablet which was launched in the market in 2011. As per that time, the tabs were almost introduced in the market so the Advent Amico is pretty good (keeping the 2011 in mind), if you use it in today's date then it is surely a piece of slow box having some really nice features.

The Advent Amico runs Android Kernel version 2.6.29 which cannot be upgraded as per my knowledge. But the Advent Amico can be customized which is really good for a tab like this to work.

It took me a lot of time searching the how-to and what is regarding Advent Amico and to my surprise not even a website or forum mentioning anything about this tab. Everywhere you can find things related to the other tab named Vega. Though the Advent Amico comes with a safety manual and a tablet button guide but it is not helpful in depths. People who might have purchased it would have find it very difficult understanding some important aspects of the tablet.

Spending £120 on the Advent Amico was a total waste (in 2011), for me the Advent Amico tablet is just alright, I would give it 1.5 rating out of 5 in today's date but if I was to rate it in 2011 then I might have given it a 3 star rating analyzing the features it has got. There are some good features in this tablet, but as it runs on old Android firmware it lacks most of the new inputs of the Android world, the most important being the Android market or the play store.

Pros:
Good video output
Nice sound quality
Able to create shortcuts at home screen
Battery charges fast

Cons:
Slow user interface
No android market or play store
Applications stop responding
Disconnects from wifi automatically

This is all that I can talk about the Advent Amico, hope it was useful for the people who still have it and to people who are having it in their backyards or in garage. I am still breaking it and cracking it and have succeeded in getting some android apps to work on it without any problem, so if you need any help then do let me know at tech3lper@gmail.com
